Fashion and Society

Multidisciplinary artist Caroline Monnet is spending two months in Nijmegen as an artist-in-residence to work on a new artwork inspired by her time here. In her work, Monnet blends personal cultural history with cultural narratives. She explores the impact of colonialism and updates outdated systems using Anishinaabeg methodologies.

During the artist talk in the Steigerzaal at De Lindenberg on Monday, May 18, Monnet will discuss how Indigenous lived realities and her experiences in Nijmegen intersect during her Artist in Residence.

The evening begins with a warm welcome and a drink. Afterward, Caroline Monnet will take you into the world of fashion and film. Of course, there will also be plenty of time for questions from the audience.
